There’s no small amount of effort involved and I have a busy academic life with lots of responsibilities. But it’s ironic that I forgot to set… Continue reading The last 5%

The emotional diary of a novice Pt 1

Coming up from a strict home with 4 brothers who were religiously stiff with the things of God, Osas sometimes felt like the black sheep because he had this perspective that was so different from his brothers. His dad left while he was 16 and he didn’t really have any uncles or aunts around to make him fully aware of his emotional capabilities, his mum tried her best but she couldn’t penetrate the thick layers of his teenage years…………. I know you would ask if both of his parents didn’t have brothers or sisters. They did but there was this … Continue reading The emotional diary of a novice Pt 1

ITS TIME TO TONE DOWN THAT NOISE

On a sunday I had to chill with my cousin at one of this open air relaxation spots and possibly catch some live premiership matches. Actually had a couple of my green bottle brand and then tried to relax but I couldn’t. Why? Because the music was loud and disorganized and I couldn’t leave because my cousin was really enjoying his day. My generation is filled with Party crazed individuals who get together with extremely loud upbeat music. The jet age is what they call us but if we travel all our lives with Jets would we ever savor the … Continue reading ITS TIME TO TONE DOWN THAT NOISE

The person i’m not sure off

Yesterday before leaving the house I spent close to thirty minutes in front of my mother’s mirror. Don’t get it wrong I was dressing up and at the same time I wanted to have this heart to heart discussion with the man in the mirror. I am Leonard Ekene Iduwe and so? But there was something else I noticed and that was the fact that I had this unhappiness inside of me and its wails were actually beaming faintly from my eyes. I had a problem and that problem was getting to know what was actually wrong with me. I … Continue reading The person i’m not sure off

The Nigerian state so far.

This time I am about to analyze the Nigerian state and its happenings so far. INSECURITY: Ever since the president of the federal republic of Nigeria declared a Partial state of emergency in three states on the North east(Adamawa,Yobe and Borno) notably strongholds of the boko haram militants. We were all aware of the threats of the most wanted man in the country Abubakar Shekau … Continue reading The Nigerian state so far.

Societal failure

2:51:27 PM March 19th 2014 I was at the popular ever busy food stuffs market(Mile 12) and I was actually trying to cool off in a buca( make shift canteen) on the road side and I saw a pregnant woman with a bowl and I just froze and focused on her……….. Once she sees somebody that’s about to enter the market she advertises herself and tells the person how much she would carry the person’s goods. Since my two decades of being a resident in lagos state I’ve seen different people with different hustles but what I saw at Mile … Continue reading Societal failure
